Afghan Samoon Company's purpose-built factory is located in Istalif, in the heart of the Shamali grape-producing plains, some 30 km from Kabul city centre. Raw material is sourced from the Shamali, Ghazni and Kandahar regions.

According to Afghan Samoon's production approach, raisins are naturally sun dried for approximately 21 days during the optimal time of the year. No olive oil or potassium carbonate is used, and no 7-day sultanas are produced — only naturally sun dried raisins.
